Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted 2 has finally been announced for Xbox consoles, with its release date set in the very near future. Originally released as a VR-only title, the flat version of Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted 2 is set to arrive for Xbox players on December 3, 2024.
Originally released for Meta Quest and PlayStation VR2, the flat, meaning non-VR, version of Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted 2 already saw a PS5 release in June 2024. The game is presented as a series of 40 mini-games with 80 collectibles to find and six secret challenges to complete, and it contains plenty of insight into the lore behind the Five Nights at Freddy's universe.

Almost half a year after PlayStation 5 players got their hands on a non-VR version of the game, developer Steel Wool Studios has released a post on Twitter announcing that the game will also be making its way to Xbox consoles on December 3. It's not clear from the post if the game will be released for Xbox One or if it will be limited to Xbox Series X|S, but as there is still no version playable on PlayStation 4, it's likely that the release will only apply to current-generation Xbox consoles. Still, the release gives Xbox players a chance to dig deeper into some secrets buried deep in the lore of Five Nights at Freddy's.
Despite not attracting as much attention as some other FNAF games, Help Wanted 2 has received a positive reaction from fans who have played it. On Steam, it enjoys an Overwhelmingly Positive score among recent reviews, with 97 percent of recent reviewers giving it their approval. Some fans have singled out the quality of the mini-games in Help Wanted 2 as one of its best selling points, with the fear factor generally getting a bigger reaction than the original Help Wanted.
Despite occurring later in the franchise's overall timeline, Five Night's at Freddy's: Help Wanted 2 sheds light on FNAF's earliest events, as its playable protagonist can discover secrets that lead all the way back to 1970. Players in the game take control of an unnamed protagonist who is also the father of Cassie, the girl who leads an investigation through the ruined Mega Pizzaplex in the Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach Ruin DLC. Through his investigations, Cassie's dad can stumble upon a poster for the previously unmentioned FallFest 1970, giving hints to some of the earliest revealed events in the career of franchise villain William Afton more than a dozen years before he founded Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.
